Ideas básicas conceptuales para el aprovechamiento del potencial hidro energético de la cuenca alta del rio “La Magdalena” del Municipio Guamá

Abstract

Beneficiar y mejorar la calidad de vida a los moradores en zonas intrincadas y montañosas es una de las tareas que la revolución cubana viene desarrollando desde hace varios años, El Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidráulicos ha trabajado en la identificación del potencial hidroenergético aprovechable del país, estudiando los principales ríos de Cuba. La presente investigación tecnológica forma parte de un proyecto nacional de gran envergadura para la construcción a largo plazo de 34 centrales hidroeléctricas en toda Cuba. Tiene como objetivo fundamental determinar y caracterizar el potencial hidroenergético de la de la cuenca alta del rio ―La Magdalena‖ del Municipio Guamá, en la provincia de Santiago de Cuba. Dicha investigación permitirá proponer el tipo de turbina hidráulica más apropiada para instalar en esa zona y brindar en un futuro electricidad al poblado ―La Magdalena‖. Para lograr este objetivo se revisó un cúmulo importante de bibliografía especializada, conjuntos de normas e instrucciones establecidas por el organismo central al respecto, como sitios en internet. Se obtuvieron como resultados fundamentales, la caracterización del potencial hidroenergético de la cuenca ―las Magdalena‖, establecer una propuesta de turbina hidráulica a instalar en la zona que garantice la electrificación a dicha población, siendo la electrificación de las montañas una brillante tarea lograda que debe seguir en desarrollo

Benefiting and improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of intricate and mountainous areas is one of the tasks that the Cuban revolution has been developing for several years. The National Institute of Hydraulic Resources has been working on the identification of the country's exploitable hydroelectric potential, studying the main rivers of Cuba. The present technological research is part of a large-scale national project for the long-term construction of 34 hydroelectric power plants throughout Cuba. Its main objective is to determine and characterize the hydroenergetic potential of the upper basin of the -La Magdalena‖ river in the Guamá Municipality, in the province of Santiago de Cuba. This research will allow proposing the most appropriate type of hydraulic turbine to be installed in that area and provide electricity to the town of -La Magdalena‖ in the future. In order to achieve this objective, an important amount of specialized bibliography, sets of norms and instructions established by the central agency in this regard, as well as Internet sites, were reviewed. The main results obtained were the characterization of the hydro-energy potential of the -Las Magdalena‖ basin, the establishment of a proposal for a hydraulic turbine to be installed in the area to guarantee the electrification of the population, being the electrification of the mountains a brilliant task that must continue to be developed.
