Tratamiento del problema de la identidad en el caribe hispano, desde la perspectiva de Pedro Henríquez Ureña

Abstract

En esta investigación se desarrolla el tema de la identidad teniendo en cuenta las diferentes temáticas que este cubre a partir de las concepciones de tipo humanista, las éticas, las gnoseológicas, etc. que han sido abordadas de una forma u otra por Pedro Henríquez Ureña, quien tratara a lo largo de toda su obra el tema. La identidad en la América Latina y el Caribe, ha sido estudiada a partir de las diferentes realidades a lo largo de todo el continente. Ha sido conceptualizada por estudiosos del tema, con criterios que han coincidido o no, debido a la versatilidad con que se muestra en el mundo. Uno de los principales exponentes del tema en esta región a la que nos referimos fue Pedro Henríquez Ureña, quien dedicó toda su vida al estudio de todo lo referente a la idiosincrasia, el idioma, las culturas, las religiones, en dicho continente. Con una herencia tanto filial como espiritual rica en intelectualidad, reconocimiento, abnegación por su patria, hicieron de Ureña un erudito de concepciones que han trascendido los siglos. El período en que vive Ureña se extiende desde finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, coincidiendo con un rico contexto histórico, que va a condicionar toda su vida y su obra.

In this research, the theme of identity is developed taking into account the different themes that it covers based on humanistic, ethical, epistemological, etc. conceptions. that have been addressed in one way or another by Pedro Henríquez Ureña, who dealt with the topic throughout his work. Identity in Latin America and the Caribbean has been studied based on the different realities throughout the continent. It has been conceptualized by scholars of the subject, with criteria that have coincided or not, due to the versatility with which it is shown in the world. One of the main exponents of the subject in this region to which we refer was Pedro Henríquez Ureña, who dedicated his entire life to the study of everything related to the idiosyncrasy, the language, the cultures, the religions, in said continent. With a heritage that was both filial and spiritual, rich in intellectuality, recognition, and self-sacrifice for his country, they made Ureña a scholar of concepts that have transcended the centuries. The period in which Ureña lives extends from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, coinciding with a rich historical context, which will condition his entire life and work.
