Caracterización urbano - arquitectónica del Reparto Sueño en la década del 50.

Abstract

El surgimiento del Reparto Sueño (Fomento) estuvo condicionado durante los inicios del periodo neocolonial. A principio de julio de 1830 el área que ocupa hoy el Reparto Sueño era conocido también como La Hacienda Espanta Sueño, para entonces era propiedad del Alcalde Mayor del distrito sur de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, Don Fernando Carmova. Promovido por el interés de la pequeña y mediana burguesía que abandonaban el centro urbano, y exigían la creación de nuevas áreas residenciales, en 1909 las compañías urbanizadoras de Fomento y Vista Alegre comienzan a construir edificaciones a lo largo de eje Victoriano Garzón extendiéndose posteriormente hacia la zona noroeste, consolidándose en los años cincuenta bajo la arquitectura moderna, La inexistencia de documentación sobre dicha arquitectura propició el desarrollo de esta investigación, cuyo objetivo es la caracterización urbano-arquitectónica del Movimiento Moderno desarrollado en el reparto a partir de la realización del inventario de esta arquitectura analizando sus autores, años de construcción, niveles, entre otros aspectos. Para ello se realizó una búsqueda de información en fuentes históricas y trabajo de campo para verificar estos datos y se utilizaron planillas de inventario como elemento metodológico. La investigación se estructuró en dos capítulos, el primero abordó referentes teóricos, históricos y conceptuales relacionados con la arquitectura moderna a nivel nacional. El segundo se encaminó a la caracterización urbano-arquitectónica del Movimiento Moderno en el reparto Sueño partiendo de la elaboración del inventario, resultando en la definición de las características de la arquitectura moderna desarrollada en el mismo, a través del análisis de aspectos como: la tipología, el emplazamiento de las obras, los arquitectos que las proyectaron, años de construcción, presupuestos, propietarios, niveles, entre otros. Todo ello permitió arribar a las conclusiones y recomendaciones planteadas en la investigación.

For he/she was carried out it a search of information in historical sources and field work to verify these data and inventory schedules were used as methodological element. The investigation was structured in two chapters, the first one approached relating theoretical, historical and conceptual related with the modern architecture at national level. The second he/she headed to the urban-architectural characterization of the Modern Movement in the allotment Dream leaving of the elaboration of the inventory, being in the definition of the characteristics of the modern architecture developed in the same one, through the analysis of aspects like: the typology, the location of the works, the architects that projected them, years of construction, budgets, proprietors, levels, among others. Everything allowed it to arrive to the conclusions and recommendations outlined in the investigation.
