Una aproximación sociológica al tema de la recreación. El caso de la residencia estudiantil Antonio Maceo de la Universidad de Oriente

Abstract

La investigación aborda un fenómeno actual, las prácticas recreativas en los estudiantes universitarios.La misma se enfoca en determinar las causas que influyen en la escasa participación de los estudiantes de la residencia estudiantil Antonio Maceo en las actividades recreativas diseñadas por la institución universitaria Los preceptos teóricos que se utilizaron para el análisis de esta problemática han partido de la teoría vertebradora del habitus y campus de Pierre Bourdieu. Se tuvieron en cuenta los postulados del Estructural Funcionalismo, en especial el sistema social de Talcott Parsons. Se utilizó la propuesta constructivista de Peter Berger y Thomas Luckman, la cual ofrece la posibilidad de analizar la realidad social como una construcción humana, aun cuando la participación del individuo en esta construcción sea ínfima en función de la transformación permanente de la vida de las comunidades. Por último,como teorías específicas, las provenientes de la Pedagogía y la Sociología del Tiempo libre, con las ideas de Manuel Cuenca y Joffré Dumazedier respectivamente. La perspectiva metodológica empleada incluye métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, los cuales se imbricaron con vistas a alcanzar información a partir de dos enfoques metodológicos distintos. Para ello, en un primer momento, fase exploratoria, se utilizaron las siguientes técnicas de recogida de información: observación no participante, y entrevistas no estructuradas. También se emplearon diferentes métodos teóricos como el histórico-lógico, el analítico – sintético y el inductivo –deductivo. En un segundo momento, fase de comprobación de hipótesis, fue imprescindible es uso de la triangulación metodológica y se aplicaron técnicas como el cuestionario y las entrevistas en profundidad. Fue importante el uso del paquete estadístico matemático SPSS para el procesamiento de los datos recogidos.

The research addresses a current phenomenon, recreational practices in university students. It focuses on evaluating the participation of students from the Antonio Maceo student residence of the Universidad de Oriente, Santiago de Cuba, in recreational and leisure activities designed by the institution. The theoretical precepts that were used for the analysis of this problematic have left from the vertebradora theory of the habitus and campus of Pierre Bourdieu. The postulates of structural functionalism were taken into account, especially the social system of Talcott Parsons. The constructivist proposal of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckman was used, which offers the possibility of analyzing social reality as a human construction, even when the participation of the individual in this construction is insignificant in terms of the permanent transformation of the life of the communities. Finally, the theory of Manuel Cuenca, about which he talks about the dimensions and directionality of leisure withinhumanistic leisure. Regarding the methodology used in our work, methodological triangulation was essential. In the exploratory phase of our study different theoretical methods were used, such as the logical - historical, the analytical - synthetic and the inductive - deductive. The empirical methods used in this first phase were of a qualitative nature and within them techniques such as the unstructured interview were applied to students of the same university and in-depth interviews with key informants of the first order, linked to the area of University Extension and residence from students.In addition, participant observation was used.
