Factores socioculturales que explican la reproducción de la pobreza de los jóvenes en los espacios públicos del Consejo Popular Los Olmos

Abstract

Aunque la pobreza ha sido objeto de estudio durante varias décadas, aún en la actualidad constituye una problemática que de manera generalizada afecta las sociedades contemporáneas. Hasta ahora la mayoría de los estudios sobre la pobreza se habían basado en medidas de consumo o ingresos dejando fuera la influencia de aspectos subjetivos como los patrones culturales que expresan el estilo de vida dominante en cada área o región y cómo influyen en la reproducción de la pobreza y otras unidades de observación como los espacios públicos. Para esta investigación se escogió el Consejo Popular Los Olmos de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba debido a la existencia de problemas sociales que caracterizan la condición objetiva de pobreza y la reproducción de la misma en el modo de vida de los habitantes, principalmente los jóvenes comprendidos en las edades 15 a 24 años. De esta forma se plantea como objetivo: Determinar los factores socioculturales que explican la reproducción de la pobreza de los jóvenes en los espacios públicos del Consejo Popular Los Olmos a los efectos de realizar recomendaciones a las instituciones de la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba. La metodología utilizada fue cuantitativa y cualitativa, con la aplicación de métodos y técnicas como la entrevista no estructurada, cuestionarios y la observación no participante. La triangulación metodológica constituyó el principal recurso para la validación de éste trabajo.

Although the poverty has been study object during several decades, even at the present time it constitutes a problem that affects the contemporary societies in a widespread way. Up to now most of the studies about the poverty had been based on consumption measures or revenues leaving the influence of subjective aspects outside as the cultural patterns that express the dominant lifestyle in each area or region and how they influence in the reproduction of the poverty and other observation units like the public spaces. For this investigation the Popular Council Olmos of the city of Santiago from Cuba was chosen due to the existence of social problems that you/they characterize the objective condition of poverty and the reproduction of the same one in the way of the inhabitants' life, mainly the youths understood in the ages 15 to 24 years. This way thinks about as objective: To determine the sociocultural factors that you/they explain the reproduction of the poverty of the youths in the public spaces of the Popular Council Olmos to the effects of carrying out recommendations to the institutions of the city of Santiago from Cuba. The used methodology was quantitative and qualitative, with the application of methods and technical as the not structured interview, questionnaires and the observation non participant. The methodological triangulation constituted the main resource for the validation of this work.
