La vivienda ecléctica en el centro histórico de Santiago de Cuba. Tipologías constructivas y lesiones asociadas

Abstract

Las primeras décadas del siglo XX han legado un valioso matrimonio construido en Cuba y en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, destacándose el eclecticismo y su arquitectura doméstica como excelentes exponentes de este estilo predominante en esta etapa, que se caracteriza por el uso de un amplio repertorio de materiales y técnicas. El centro histórico de Santiago de Cuba es un ejemplo de la representatividad de la arquitectura doméstica ecléctica; la ausencia de estudios que definan el comportamiento constructivo de varios de los subsistemas que presenta la vivienda ecléctica del centro histórico de la ciudad, limita que las intervenciones se realicen sobre bases teóricas, esto constituye el problema de la investigación. El conocimiento de las formas originales de construir y el análisis de la problemática actual que presenta la vivienda ecléctica a partir del diagnóstico de las lesiones que la caracteriza, conforma una valiosa documentación no solo en el plano teórico sino por la importancia que tiene en los procesos de organización y control de las intervenciones constructivas, pudiendo servir de guía en la protección de este significativo patrimonio de la ciudad. La investigación analiza la vivienda ecléctica a través del estudio de los subsistemas: fachada, cubierta y estructura, la caracterización de sus tipologías constructivas y las lesiones asociadas que presentan es el objetivo general de la investigación. El trabajo expone las bases teóricas, metodológicas y conceptuales que permitieron el análisis de la vivienda ecléctica a partir de su condicionamiento histórico y los antecedentes del tema; teniendo especial importancia la revisión de las fuentes documentales de archivo. Se plantean procedimientos metodológicos y variables que permitieron realizar la caracterización tipológica constructiva de la vivienda ecléctica ubicada en el centro histórico de la ciudad y el estudio de las lesiones partiendo del análisis de sus principales subsistemas, precisando los tipos y tipologías constructivas y sus lesiones asociadas, describiéndose todos los comportamientos mediante gráficos e historiogramas. Como resultado del trabajo se presenta una ficha que sintetiza los análisis realizados a partir de las características de cada tipología constructiva definida, brindando un valioso soporte teórico, gráfico y metodológico para ser aplicado en las intervenciones a realizar en este importante patrimonio de la ciudad.

The knowledge of the original ways of building and the analysis of the current problems that the eclectic house presents from the diagnosis of the lesions that characterize it, forms a valuable documentation not only in the theoretical plane but because of the importance it has in the processes of organization and control of constructive interventions, being able to serve as a guide in the protection of this significant heritage of the city. The research analyzes the eclectic house through the study of the subsystems: facade, roof and structure, the characterization of its constructive typologies and the associated injuries that they present is the general objective of the research. The work exposes the theoretical, methodological and conceptual bases that allowed the analysis of eclectic housing from its historical conditioning and the background of the subject; having special importance the revision of the documentary sources of file. Methodological procedures and variables are proposed that allowed the constructive typological characterization of the eclectic house located in the historic center of the city and the study of the injuries based on the analysis of its main subsystems, specifying the constructive types and typologies and their associated injuries. describing all the behaviors through graphs and historiograms. As a result of the work, a file is presented that synthesizes the analyzes carried out based on the characteristics of each defined construction typology, providing valuable theoretical, graphic and methodological support to be applied in the interventions to be carried out in this important heritage of the city.
